Comfortable, Silk Weight Flame Resistant Performance Apparel

Silk Weight Comfort
These garments feel like nothing you’ve ever worn before. Offering a slightly more substantial heft and an overall durability quality over and above traditional 3-ounce silk weight products, all of the garments shown here are made from a 5-ounce, single-knit, one layer DRIFIRE blend for optimal comfort and provide that all-important layer of flame resistance protection. In the industry, this weight, in combination with the fabric’s feel and comfort factors, combine to create a garment that is said to have ‘nice hand.’ What that means to you is these garments feel good against the skin; they wear well; they are very comfortable for long periods of time in virtually all conditions. It means you’re getting a material that will keep you cooler when it is hot; warmer when it is cold; and always better able to transition your body temperature as cold and hot conditions and exertion levels change.

DRIFIRE® Design Innovations
DRIFIRE Performance FR Generation 2 garments were designed with what we call a "Relaxed Technical Fit™" ("RTF"), which was chosen to maximize the capabilities of the driFIRE fabrics and achieve the first-ever perfect middle ground between baggy options that are very comfortable but wick poorly to tight fitting compression solutions that wick well but are very tight. Our RTF designs produces a next-to-skin garment that contours well to the body without being tight, thus maximizing wicking and fast drying, FR protection, as well as comfort and the freedom of movement demanded of people in active professional and leisure roles.

But we didn't stop there. Every facet of inner layer garment comfort has been reexamined by DRIFIRE design experts. The result: a finished product that has been re-engineered tops to bottoms with comfort features you won't find anywhere else, in any other product in its class:

No Shoulder Seams.
No Top of Shoulder or Underarm Seams
Over the top shoulder seams are a point of pain and chafing, have been replaced by off-center shoulder seams. Underarm seams that are a frequent source of discomfort have been relocated to minimize chafing due to frequent contact with other garment layers as well as from the pressure points of equipment and materials being carried on or by the body.

Maximum Directional Stretch Optimization
Taking advantage of the natural, built-in directional stretch of our DRIFIRE fabric blend, every garments shown here uses a pattern that optimizes the fabric’s different response to your arm, leg, and chest movements.
